Drawing Inspiration

As part of our efforts to raise awareness about the situation in Darfur, we are asking children in schools and community groups throughout the world to draw pictures of themselves and their families and to write messages of hope and support to the children living in the camps.

Article 1 will then take these drawings to Chad and display them in the camps for the children to see. These messages of encouragement and solidarity from their peers in throughout will hopefully bring some measure of comfort to children who have suffered greatly, and who feel abandoned and isolated.

We are hoping that schools worldwide will stand together with the people of Darfur by taking part in our Drawing Inspiration initiative. We will exhibit both sets of drawings in London in late 2009. As of April 2009, drawings have already been collected in the US, Canada, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
